On The Road Again…

My trip to Peru is just around the corner, and boy could I use it. I’ve been planning this trip for a while now, or well, I guess you could say I’ve had the trip planned for a while. These days, I find myself sitting at my corporate job behind my corporate desk daydreaming about the adventure I’ll encounter while on this trip.

Speaking of corporate jobs and corporate desks, do you remember my old post called My Next Step? Well, after what seems like a long dragged-out wait and working at a job that is really only meant to “pay the bills,” what I wrote about in that post is finally happening. But that’s a story for another day…

In just a couple of weeks now I’ll be heading to Peru where I’ll be hiking the Inca Trail, exploring the cities of Cusco and Lima, and quite possibly sand-boarding or dune-buggy driving at a desert oasis called Huacachina. I invested in a new Canon DLSR camera and a trusty little wide-angle lens to help document the trip, and I’m really excited to share the stories and photographs with all of you.

For a better description of what my trip to Peru should be like, feel free to check out my last post Announcing New Travel Plans: Peru!

I know it has been a while, both since my last trip and since I last had constant updates on this blog…

…but I’m back baby.

Author: Nathan Bush Wedding Photography

My name is Nathan Bush and I am a loving husband, an avid world traveler, an adventurer, and an off-road and Jeep enthusiast. I began my serious journey into photography in the mountains of Patagonia Argentina where I fell in love with the wilderness world. My passion has taken me to Iceland, Alaska, Peru, Argentina, Belgium, the Netherlands, and countless National Parks.  A good friend once told me I should combine my knack for beautiful landscape photography with capturing the details of their wedding, so I decided to dive right into the challenge. It has been quite a ride from there, and thus today, my passion for photography has evolved to capturing the raw candid emotion and intimate moments involved in wedding photography.

    1. Thanks! Yeah, your stories were pretty great, and I’ve met a few other people around where I’m from that have been down there and everyone has incredibe stories. I’m looking forward to it!

    1. hahaha I guess I can offer a little inside scoop. If you remember that My Next Step post I mentioned a 50 day course to get me certified in wilderness medicine, as well as training in various outdoor activities like rock climbing, white water canoeing, etc. Well, I’ve finally put enough money aside to actually do this course so that I can be certified to get that job, so in March, ill be heading down to spend 50 days in the mountains in North Carolina. If all goes perfect I’ll have a job down there for the summer with Outward Bound, the company I want to work for after completing this course. If not, I’ve been in touch with other companies that have hired guides after completion of the course I’m doing, and, in turn, Outward Bound has hired their staff from these other companies, after they have built up some more experience working full-time. I hope that makes sense haha.

But keep your fingers crossed for me!

      1. Consider them crossed! And I might find myself in Asheville NC at some point this spring or summer, so if that’s near where you’re going to be, we could do a blog meetup! (I live in eastern NC.) Maybe I’ll bring my little sister along and introduce you. 😉

(Haha, did I just make it awkward?)

      2. hahahaha this almost seems weird to say, but I feel like we’ve had enough conversations, whether through comments or email, to the point where it would be tough to make things awkward haha. Asheville is actually exactly where I’ll be! That is, when I emerge from living in the mountains… but I’m sure we could work something out once I get final information about my schedule while I’m down there. That would be fun!
