Colors Along the Trail

So. It turns out I brought a mild case of E.coli home with me from Peru. Currently recovering from stomach cramps and a few worse symptoms that are too graphic for mention here. For this reason I don’t feel like writing much today, so hopefully a photograph from the Inca Trail will suffice, for now:

I’ll be back as soon as I fight this bug!

My name is Nathan Bush and I am a loving husband, an avid world traveler, an adventurer, and an off-road and Jeep enthusiast. I began my serious journey into photography in the mountains of Patagonia Argentina where I fell in love with the wilderness world. My passion has taken me to Iceland, Alaska, Peru, Argentina, Belgium, the Netherlands, and countless National Parks.  A good friend once told me I should combine my knack for beautiful landscape photography with capturing the details of their wedding, so I decided to dive right into the challenge. It has been quite a ride from there, and thus today, my passion for photography has evolved to capturing the raw candid emotion and intimate moments involved in wedding photography.

  1. Ahhhh poor you! That sucks as I have been there twice, on e after costa rica I was sick for a month with a parasite and after India I was very sick. I was the only one on our trek ten years ago in Peru who did not get sick during the trip ( which would have. Eeniaerable since as you know there are no toilets along the trail!)/ I hope you are on antibiotics and recover soon! That is the only downfall to traveling off the beaten path…getting sick!

    1. Yeah, I have no idea where it could have come from. The food that our cook made on our hike was soooo good, and every seemed cooked very well. Must have been one of the last restaurants I went to. Either way, I’m on some wicked strong Antibiotics and am already feeling better than I was 36 hours ago. As I said on my facebook page though…#stillworthit! haha 😀

      Thanks though!

  2. Hope you are feeling better, Nate
That can’t be fun at all. I remember when I was travelling in S. America that one of the biggest problems for stomach bugs was drinking water. I was adamant about not drinking tap water, nor ice-cubes… but my boyfriend of the time drank the tap water – and duly paid the price for that. Not pretty…

    1. Hi Lu,
I’m feeling much better, thanks you. Yeah everything on the internet, travel guides, and many people told me that I couldn’t drink the water down there. I was pretty good at not drinking tap water, or having ice, but one day I did find that I rinsed my toothbrush and used it to brush my teeth without thinking. Maybe that did it? But that was early on in the trip so I’m not so sure. Oh well, all that matters is im generally all better now. Time to start planning the next trip! haha

    1. Thanks, hasayang. I have fully recovered and it feels great! Just some nice looking plants along the Inca Trail. If you hike it one day you wont miss these. All of a sudden, one side of the trail bursts into amazing color.
      Thanks for looking!
